There are days that feel like a spark—where something shifts, hearts open, and stories begin to unfold in powerful new ways. Our recent BLOOM Young Adults Event was one of those days.
We had the joy of welcoming 70 young women into a space designed not just for learning, but for becoming. These were women on the edge of leadership, some already stepping into roles of influence, others still wondering if they belonged in that space at all. Together, we explored themes that matter deeply: character and discipline, our witness, and the call to evangelism. But more than that, we created room for honest conversations and Spirit-led moments.
One of the most impactful parts of the day was our “Conversational Spaces” elective. Picture small circles of women, leaning in, sharing vulnerably about leadership in five key areas: self, church, ministry, workspaces, and youth work. The feedback was heartfelt—many said it was the first time they felt truly seen and heard in their leadership journeys.
A moment that stayed with us came when we asked, “How many of you see yourselves as leaders?” Only three hands went up. The silence that followed was telling. It opened the door to a raw and beautiful dialogue. One young woman shared how she felt the absence of discipleship in her journey. Another admitted she may have been placed in leadership too soon. These weren’t just comments—they were confessions, and they reminded us why BLOOM exists: to walk alongside, to disciple, to affirm.
We ended the day with a powerful message on Jesus, our Servant Leader—the One who leads not from a platform, but from a basin and towel. As we prayed with 15 young women, commissioning them into the callings God has placed on their lives, the room was thick with emotion. Hands were held, tears were shed, and something sacred happened. It wasn’t just a closing moment—it was a beginning.
This day reminded us that leadership isn’t about titles. It’s about calling, service, and community. And it’s about showing up for one another in the in-between spaces—where doubt meets destiny.
We’re deeply grateful for what God is doing through these young women. And we can’t wait to see the fruit that will grow from the seeds planted at BLOOM.
