Facilitating My First Job Journey Course

When I first agreed to facilitate a Job Journey course on my own, I imagined it happening in Nyanga. That was the plan. But life—and God—had other ideas. Transport challenges and beneficiary difficulties meant we had to move the sessions to our Message Office. At first, it felt like a setback, but it turned out to be the best decision we could have made.

Hosting the course at our office created space for something special. Not only did participants learn practical skills to become work-ready, but they also got to experience our Prayer Week—a rhythm that shaped the atmosphere of every session. Starting each day with devotion wasn’t just a routine; it became a lifeline. One learner told me she loved it so much that she plans to continue at home. That moment reminded me why we do this.

We worked with nine incredible participants, some of whom had faced enormous challenges, including time behind bars. Yet what stood out wasn’t their past—it was their teamwork, resilience, and hunger for change. Two participants even asked me to pray for them during a difficult time. Those conversations were raw and real, and they reminded me that transformation is as much about the heart as it is about skills.

The course ended with mock interviews, where participants put everything they’d learned into practice. Watching their confidence grow was nothing short of inspiring. For me, this wasn’t just about teaching—it was about walking alongside people as they take steps toward hope and opportunity.

If you’d like to support these journeys—whether through transport fees, encouragement, or prayer—your contribution can make a lasting impact. Because every small act of kindness helps someone move closer to a future filled with dignity and purpose.
