Kewtown is a community affected by gangsterism, drug and alcohol abuse, gender-based violence, high crime, resulting in many residents living below basic living conditions. For many years, we have partnered with New Destiny Church, a beacon of hope in this area. Our collaboration has been fruitful, with two of our academy graduates hailing from Kewtown, with one of them previously heading up our community hub in Parkwood. This success inspired the pastor of New Destiny Church to advocate for a similar initiative in Kewtown, recognizing the urgent need for support and resources for young people.
Our belief is that the Kewtown hub will provide a safe and nurturing environment for the youth, equipping them with the tools and support they need to flourish in their faith, education, and recreational pursuits. One of the foundational programs we have implemented is Genetik Sessions, which is already making a significant impact in the community. This program focuses on nurturing creative talents and providing a platform for self-expression and personal growth.
Despite the challenges, the resilience and potential of Kewtown’s youth is evident. With continued support and resources, we are confident that the community hub will play a crucial role in transforming lives and fostering a bright future for young people in Kewtown.
