The tagline of The Message Trust in South Africa is ‘raising up generations of Urban Heroes’. An Urban Hero is someone who has found their hope and purpose in Christ. They are transformational leaders creating ripple effects of change in their families, communities, and nations. At our recent Urban Hero Awards ceremony, we celebrated five transformational leaders who, against all odds, are making a tangible difference in society.
Held at the start of November, this year’s Urban Hero Awards was an incredible black-tie dinner event, kindly sponsored by many of our key partners, to celebrate our five amazing award winners.
We had wonderful feedback from guests who shared how the evening brought them so much hope and that they’re grateful to see how God is moving in South Africa. And our award winners were encouraged by receiving the recognition and empowered to continue the work God has called them to do.
Each of our five winners were all nominated by the staff and volunteers of The Message South Africa and we want to congratulate them once again.

We want to express our gratitude to all our Urban Hero Award partners: Clint Le Roe and Shivani Jooste, Kim Boshoff, The Olive Grove, Insurance Institute of the Western Cape, The Blackbird Group, XL Transit, CCFM and The Sowers Trust. A huge thank you to all our guests who came on the night.
