Across Nyanga, Jozi East, and Parkwood, this holiday season was filled with laughter, learning, faith, and life-changing moments as children and teenagers gathered for engaging holiday programmes designed to provide safe spaces where young people could grow, connect, and encounter hope.
At the Nyanga Hub Holiday Programme, children explored the theme**”The Renewing of the Mind”** during a three-day programme that welcomed around 140 children on the final day. Through Bible teaching, games, worship, and creative activities, young people were encouraged to grow spiritually while building friendships and confidence. A standout feature was the Genetik session, where participants developed dance and vocal skills while emerging leaders had opportunities to welcome guests, lead activities, and serve their peers. The programme reached a powerful conclusion when local young leader Yola shared a message about Jesus, leading many children to make the decision to accept Christ as their personal Saviour.
Meanwhile, the Jozi East Teenage Holiday Club created a vibrant environment where approximately 80 teenagers gathered over three days for worship, games, fellowship, and meaningful conversations. What began as an opportunity to create a safe space for teenagers quickly became a powerful ministry moment. Young people arrived with enthusiasm and energy, reminding leaders of the next generation’s desire for connection, purpose, and hope. The most significant highlight came through the Gospel messages shared throughout the programme, with approximately 45 teenagers making decisions to give their lives to Christ.
In Parkwood, children embarked on a “Treasure Hunters” adventure inspired by Matthew 6:21, discovering the treasures of God’s Word, Respect, and Compassion. Through games, stories, and activities, children were encouraged to identify what truly matters. One particularly moving story involved a young boy often labelled a troublemaker. After initially attending with friends, he chose to return on his own for the remaining days, fully engaging in the programme and demonstrating the transformative power of belonging, acceptance, and encouragement. This moment beautifully captured the heart behind the Holiday Club and the belief that every child matters.
These programmes were more than just holiday activities. They were opportunities to invest in young lives, develop future leaders, create lasting memories, and share the love of Jesus in practical ways. Whether through a child discovering their value, a teenager finding hope, or a young leader stepping into their calling, the impact of these holiday programmes will continue long after the final games were played and the last songs were sung.
