Over the past year, the Respect ME Girls Course has empowered young women to embrace their worth, make informed choices, and develop confidence in who they are. This transformative program has reached girls from diverse backgrounds, providing them with the tools to navigate life’s challenges with strength and resilience.
The first one took place in Kraaifontein, where our team introduced an exercise to help girls recognize their unique beauty—both inside and out. Each girl wore a paper plate on her back while her peers wrote down the personality traits and physical features they admired. The responses were eye-opening, revealing hidden strengths and shifting negative self-perceptions.
Throughout the course, girls have engaged in honest discussions on relationships, identity, and self-worth. Many expressed how the program changed their perspectives: “I learnt that if your partner truly loves you, they will respect your decisions,” shared one 17-year-old. Others spoke of newfound confidence and the realization that they have control over their emotions and choices.
As we celebrate a year of the Respect ME Girls Course, we are reminded of the lasting impact of mentorship, encouragement, and gospel centered Life skills sessions. Here’s to many more lives transformed!
