Two Years of the Cape Town Youth Leaders Conference 2025

This year marked a meaningful milestone for us as an organisation. In partnership with Scripture Union, we wrapped up the second year of our Youth Leaders Training with the Cape Town Youth Leaders Conference.

Held at Jubilee Community Church, the event brought together over 200 youth leaders from churches across Cape Town. The energy in the room was tangible from the start. Butch Cassidy kicked things off with a performance that got everyone on their feet and set the tone for a day full of connection, learning, and encouragement.

We were honoured to host a lineup of speakers who brought depth, honesty, and practical ministry insight:

  • Dr. Tim Tucker (Message Africa) spoke powerfully about the cost of following Jesus—especially when it comes to relationships and identity. His message was raw and real, and it resonated deeply.
  • Pastor Keenan Farquhar (CHS Life Centre) reminded us that leadership starts with the heart. He challenged us to lead from a place of spiritual health and integrity.
  • Pastor Peter and Janine Cornelius (Claremont Baptist) shared their journey of discovering and walking in their calling, encouraging leaders to trust God’s timing and voice.
  • Tshepu Kabutu (Alpha Africa) tackled the challenge of building real connections in a digital world, offering practical ways to engage youth meaningfully.
  • Greg Berry (Jlife Africa) led a breakout on discipleship that transforms—not just informs. He pushed us to think relationally and long-term.
  • Dani and Alexa (Arise) brought a deeply moving message about justice and compassion, especially for vulnerable children and families. Their breakout session sparked important conversations about advocacy and care.

Throughout the day, the breakout sessions were buzzing. Leaders leaned in, asked hard questions, and shared openly. It was clear that this wasn’t just another event—this was a space where people came to grow, be challenged, and find community.

One of the most beautiful things about the conference was the unity. Leaders from different churches, denominations, and backgrounds came together with one goal: to see young people in Cape Town thrive. That shared heartbeat was felt in every conversation, prayer, and moment of worship.

We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who made this day possible—our speakers, volunteers, Scripture Union, Jubilee Community Church, and every youth leader who showed up with open hearts and minds. If this conference is anything to go by, the future of youth ministry in Cape Town is in passionate, prayerful, and capable hands.

Here’s to deeper collaboration, greater impact, and a generation of leaders who are ready to lead with love, courage, and purpose.

Each year, in partnership with Scripture Union, we help journey with a group of youth leaders for our TYLT (Training Youth Leaders Together) monthly sessions. If you, or anyone you know, would like to be part of this, please email us at [email protected] and we will get you connected to the right team!

We’d also like to express deep gratitude for Scripture Union, its team and our partnership. We know that we are better together and are thankful for their commitment to raising up a generation of effective youth workers.

Simply put. Scripture Union we love you! Click here for more info on SU.
