Respect Me: Impacting Lives, One School at a Time

The Respect Me program has just wrapped up another powerful journey at a local high school—and the impact was deeply felt. Students from Grades 10 and 11 engaged in honest conversations around identity, abuse, relationships, and personal growth. Their feedback speaks volumes:

“I enjoyed it, I think it makes everyone think of their actions.” – Age 18
“It was a nice thing, that helps everyone to a better place.” – Age 18
“It makes me a bit more open—and everyone had fun.” – Age 17

During a session on abuse, Grade 11 learners courageously disclosed self-harm struggles. Thanks to the space created by the program, a teacher, previously unaware, was able to guide them to the school counsellor. In another moment, a Grade 10 learner shared how becoming a big brother helped him overcome a pornography addiction after being inspired by a session.

A young girl, triggered by the Love vs Lust topic, opened up about her own struggles to our Respect Me leader, Taryn, and was also connected with the help she needed. We love that we get to remind young people of their worth and show them that they have the power to change their situations and make good choices for their future.
