Respect Me Walk for Worth

The day we had all been waiting for had finally arrived—the Walk for Worth 8km fundraiser! A group of dedicated school workers, armed with determination and a sense of purpose, gathered at the Silvermine Nature Reserve to begin their journey.

The challenge? An 8km walk and hike up to Elephants Eye.

The result? An incredible team effort that pushed the total distance to a whopping 10km, surpassing our initial goal!

From the first step to the last, laughter and cheers echoed through the trails as our team, decked out in their vibrant Walk for Worth t-shirts. Thanks to the generosity of the Noland Foundation, our school workers were well-prepared for the adventure ahead. Their running packs, filled with snacks and essentials, kept everyone fuelled and ready to tackle each km. The sight of the team, fresh-faced and full of energy, was a testament to the power of community and the shared belief in a worthy cause.

While the main event is behind us, we have one more runner, James, one of our dedicated participants, is gearing up to complete his route this Saturday.

What makes this event even more special is the incredible news that we’ve secured a match funder! This means that every rand we raise will be doubled up to a value of R23 000, bringing us closer to our goal. With 65 days left until the fundraiser officially closes, we have a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference. Remember, every contribution counts. What does a. match funder mean for Respect ME? It means that for every R100 given, Respect Me gets another R100! If you would like to see your donation doubled… click here!

A donation of just R50 sponsors five primary school learners with a Respect Me workbook—imagine the impact we can create with even more support.

As we reflect on this unforgettable day, let’s carry forward the momentum, the spirit, and the purpose of the Walk for Worth. Together, we can reach new heights and achieve our goal, ensuring that every learner has the tools they need to succeed.
